Claret, 2003, Weisinger’s, Ash­land, Oregon

The term Claret refers to a Bordeaux-style blend of two or more of the fol­low­ing grapes: Caber­net Sauvi­gnon, Caber­net Franc, Mer­lot, Mal­bec or Petite Ver­dot.  Weisinger’s 2003 Claret, a blend of Mer­lot and Caber­net Franc, is dark, brood­ing, lush and wor­thy of aging, with well-balanced acids and firm tannins.
